I have done quite a few computer training courses now and I have found some types are better than others for me. I have attended classes where a person stands and talks to the group and shows a few examples on an overhead projector. To me that is pretty dull and the information does not sink in as well. I have also done training where I work alone through some exercises but I found that did not help me that much because there was not enough guidance. What I like are computer training videos. The ones that I have used are great because there are also exercises to do alongside. This means that I can watch a bit of the video and then stop it and do some of the exercises and then go back to the video. This means that I can work at my own pace and combine two different teaching methods. I found this to be the best way to learn and I got my best examination results on the things that I learnt in that way. Of course we are all different but it is worth trying out different ways of learning before deciding which one is the best for you.
